SHAREHOLDERS – Crookedstone Winner – Close Call!
26/03/15 – AH The Shareholders Final for the Crookedstone Salver was won by Arthur Devine and his rink against the rink of Bill Marshall.
It was a close fought battle with each rink scoring 1 shot at ends 1 and 2. In end 3 Arthur got 4 shots and was lying 6 shots in the 5th end when Bill, with last stone, came up and removed one of the opposition stones thus lying for shot. Bill’s team then drew the game at 6 shots all at end 6. All eyes were peeled on the finalists for the last two ends – each rink was lying shot only for the other rink to remove and stick for shot – it was like watching a see-saw! However, Arthur’s rink managed to get 1 shot at end 7 then took out the opposition stone to lie shot for end 8. Game over – score 8-6.
Well done to all the finalists for such a thrilling final.
And well done to Bob Parry and his Rink in winning the Shareholders Closing Bonspiel.

12/03/15 – JH Well it didn’t as it really was a ‘tall-order’ in last night’s last round robin games. Bob’s rink gave a good account of themselves winning against Arthur’s rink with their only defeat in this competition – 8/7, giving Bob an overall Third position. So it is indeed Arthur v Bill in the Final on the 25th March @ 1745hrs.
05/03/15 – JH Well is it going down to the ‘wire’?, with Bill Marshall’s defeat to Sandy 8/6 in last night’s Shareholder’s match. It was Bill’s last game and still with a 10 Shot advantage it looks like a tall mountain for Bob’s rink to climb to go through to the Final with his match against Arthur – but? And who would he meet in the Final – Arthur!
23/02/15 – JH Well it looks like the winner of this year’s Shareholders Crookedstone competition is going all the way to the ‘wire’ with of course the Final on the 25th March to determine the outright winner.
Bill Marshall takes on Sandy Millar and likewise Arthur Divine is taking on our own BobThomson – in both their last games. So it looks like a ‘done’ deal for the Final unless Bob can take a bundle of shots off Arthur with Sandy doing the same to Bill?
