CMP – Bob Mackintosh Cup_16 – Swiss_14 Tour Getogether

On Sunday 6th March, LIR hosted the Bob Mackintosh competition ie 3 x 6-end games operating the Schenkel system (Ends, Shots…..).

During Sept-Oct 2014 Anne and Jack Hood accompanied 15 other curlers for a SWISS CURLING TOUR, organised by Gordon Gilchrist, so the ‘Tour’ gathered together on Sunday 6th March for a wee reunion.  Three ‘Tour’ teams were entered for the competition and Anne and Jack were in Tour #1.

First game was against Alistair Smith – not an easy game and we were delighted to ‘draw’ by winning 3 ends.  The next game was against a team from the Virtual Club and we captured 4 ends from them.  The final game was against team Tour#2 – no punches were held back (hi hi). We drew by winning 3 ends all.

At the end of the competition 5 teams finished on 10 ends – the 3 Tour teams were in the top 5! However, the Tour were placed in position 3, 4 and 5 as we lost out on shots.

It was a smashing day – the catering staff stayed on and made us a meal so what more could we ask for?
