LCC_17(JH) – Members – Farewell Margaret

02/12/16 – JH – Today members of Lanark Curling Club along with members of Lanark Ladies CC, family and friends attended a farewell service held at Kirkton Parish Church, Carluke – in honour of Margaret. Along with a couple of rousing hymns, minister Iain Cunningham  recalled Margaret’s active & busy life.

In a future edition of ‘The Rocks’ it is hoped to give a more comprehensive review of Margaret’s past life.

Dear Members

It is very sad indeed to inform the club of the death of one of our members.

Mrs Margaret Sommerville, one of our Honorary Members, died this morning after sustaining a stroke 3-4 weeks ago. Margaret has been in Wishaw General Hospital since but she passed away at 4 am this morning.

A card will be sent to Margaret’s daughter from the club. There is no news yet of the funeral arrangements – when the details are known I will pass this on.

Thank you to Lorna Gray for keeping the club updated re Margaret.
