Well what’d know. Did I mention something about a LOOOONG Shot? Well that long shot almost came off. In his last game of the Seniors, Bryce was against Jim Motion and the ‘wheels’ certainly came off his wagon with an almost ‘granny’ – with his last shot in the last end giving him his only 1 – and an overall score of 1/9.
And in our last game against Bill Marshall we were playing for second position. The late show of Jack Blackwood (3rd) gave us an initial 3 up taking the first end with a 1 saw us going into the 2nd end 4 up. Bill fought back in subsequent ends, but we retained the upper hand with a convincing 4 in the last to finish 11/5.
Knowing that Bryce was well up in shots (27 against our 12) going into this last season of games, we initially thought (as we were now equal on Points 11) he still had a commanding lead – until we did the maths and what d’ya know there was ONE shot in it – Bryce 19 Alistair 18. That close. TABLE Here https://www.lanarkcurlingclub.org/wp-content/uploads/Senior-Mens_18_table.pdf
