LIR – Covid Update January 2022
Dear Club Secretary
Once again could we ask that you pass this on to your members.
Following an Inter Club match last Wednesday several curlers have tested Lateral Flow Covid Positive. As far as we are aware this is the first case of multiple spread within the rink and therefore we would like to take this opportunity to remind you all of the following protocols.
Everyone should take a Lateral Flow Test before coming to the Rink and, of course stay at home should the test prove positive.
Everyone should register with Test and Trace using the QR code when entering the rink.
Face Coverings MUST be worn at all times EXCEPT when seated in the Lounge and Restaurant or when on the ice.
Please do not gather on the walkway at the Bar end of the rink either before or after the game. Whenever possible curlers should make their way directly from the changing rooms to their sheet of ice and then, following their game, move quickly to the changing rooms – No Loitering !
The advice from Scottish Curling is that there should only be one person sweeping. This is a recommendation but, even if this advice is not followed, curlers should stay at least 1m apart on the rink during the game.
If everyone follows these simple requests at this critical time, we believe that, in a short while we can return to normality at the rink.
Kind Regards
Marion Craig Ice Rink Covid Officer
Lockhart Steele Ice Rink Manager
