UWL – The Lawrie Trophy
BACKGROUND
The James Lawrie Trophy is an Upperward (The Upperward of Lanarkshire Curling Club – UWL) trophy competition in a ‘bonspiel’ format comprising of two sets of games at the LANARKSHIRE ICE RINK and normally takes place in the first half of the season (usually November).
Upperward Clubs put forward two teams to play either over the two games or two in one period only. The cumulative Points score of the two teams with the highest up points (or if there is a draw then the highest ends) wins the competition.
